Feast your eyes on the Colt Defender Mark I, an 8 barrelled shotgun intended for law-enforcement or military use, completed in 1967. It had semi-automatic ‘like’ fire, each barrel was chambered for 20 gauge rounds, and it featured a forward pistol grip. Colt demonstrated it to a number of departments, and they were all rather impressed, unfortunately the national recession at the time prevented any adoption of the weapon.
